All at Once
Our trip to Moldova and Turkey last month feels like a lifetime ago now. We had planned for a time of rest and refreshment at the beginning of July. I have taken three trips to Turkey between March and June this year, and we were aware that we needed rest. My mom, who lives in Arkansas, moved into assisted living on my birthday, and my in-laws, who live in Tempe, AZ, will be moving to Kansas City, MO, in August to assisted living. The decisions to move into assisted living have been difficult, and the transition is emotionally hard. We would be grateful for your prayers of mercy for our parents.
Kathryn and I had a staycation where we committed to not “working” for the first 2 weeks of July. It was great to spend time together, and we had some sweet moments with our kids at times when they weren’t at work. The transition of parents needing professional care and kids stepping into adulthood, both happening at the same time for Kathryn and me can be challenging, and we would appreciate your prayers.
I am hopeful for Barnaba Ministry going forward. I will be working on brochures for each of the churches in the Foundation that will be used to promote support and partnerships. I will be connecting with churches in the U.S. I’m looking forward to connecting with Turkish pastors and hearing how their summers have been. Our next trip is at the end of September, beginning of October, so I have a few months to focus on things here in the U.S. Please pray for God to provide purposeful connections that desire to support the health of the Turkish church.
Thank you so much for your prayers and support.
If you have any questions or would like to meet for coffee, please let me know.
Blessings,
Mark
