Waiting
Isaiah 40:31
'But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.’
I don’t think of myself as someone who is good at waiting. I certainly don’t like waiting. Right now, I am in a time of waiting. My next trip to Turkey isn’t until March 2026. I’m waiting for new connections with churches to open up. I’m waiting for people to get back with me about my travel schedule for this coming year. I want to run; waiting is hard.
As I have been begrudgingly waiting, God has blessed me with a little insight. He has reminded me that it is during times of waiting that He strengthens me. During seasons of waiting, He has given me clarity in my calling, which has given me conviction. While waiting, God has grown me in prayer and reliance on Him. During this time of waiting, I need to grow in seeing God as the agent of change; all of this is God’s work. The Holy Spirit is the only one who can change my heart and others’ hearts. God is the one who will provide, and God is the one who gets the glory. Please pray for me in this season of waiting. May God mold me and shape me.
Also, please pray for Kathryn and I. During our last few trips to Turkey and Moldova, we have dreamed about what ministry will look like once we are empty nesters. It is clear that we need healing from the difficulties and hurts of the past. We can not operate the same way we used to, and change is hard. Please pray for us as we seek God’s healing, direction, and provision.
I’m grateful for your prayers; I’m especially needy of them in this season.
Please check out my latest blog post! God is doing great things in Moldova through Hakan and Luda.
Blessings,
Mark
